Defcon two, also known as “Defcon 2” and “Fast Pace” status means we are at the next step to a nuclear war. In Defcon two (Defcon 2), the United States Armed Forces are ready and prepared to ship out in 6 hours or less.
Level 2 (two) has been reached only once for the SAC, or strategic air command during the cold war cuban missile criss in October 26, 1962. During that time the United States Armed Forces remained at level three however.
